Indie Platformer 'VVVVVV' Coming Sunday

Indie developer Terry Cavanagh has announced that his topsy-turvy platformer VVVVVV will be released on January 10 for $15. Windows, Mac and Linux flavours will be available DRM-free from its site.

Rather than jumping, VVVVVV sees players inverting gravity to navigate the harsh but fair spiky retro world. I thoroughly enjoyed VVVVVV's challenging charms when I played at the Eurogamer Expo and a demo is in the works so you can check it out for yourself.

Note to the guy who wrote this game: it's looking like a lot more people would buy this at $10. I usually love these types of game ideas and love what I saw but even I have to say that I would be 10x more likely to buy it at $10 than $15. At $15 there had better be a lot of gamplay, but with such a stripped down game, I find it hard to believe that there is enough interesting content to make this a lengthy game.

Just my $.02 to the author of the game, I hope it does well, it's an awesome idea, and I really love the graphic style, its awesome.
