Indie Platformer 'VVVVVV' Coming Sunday
by Alice O'Connor, Jan 04, 2010 11:10am PSTIndie developer Terry Cavanagh has announced that his topsy-turvy platformer VVVVVV will be released on January 10 for $15. Windows, Mac and Linux flavours will be available DRM-free from its site.
Rather than jumping, VVVVVV sees players inverting gravity to navigate the harsh but fair spiky retro world. I thoroughly enjoyed VVVVVV's challenging charms when I played at the Eurogamer Expo and a demo is in the works so you can check it out for yourself.

Terry Cavanagh is charging for this since he's developing games full time, but has fallen on hard times lately. VVVVVV was originally intended to be a short project, but his passion carried him to develop it into a full game over the course of many months. This passion shows in each and every second of the game. Read his blog for a more detailed breakdown of his reasons: http://distractionware.com/blog/?p=1002
