Star Wars: The Old Republic Screenshots of Tatooine

16
Four new screenshots for Bioware's upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic have been released, and show off Luke Skywalker's sandy home world of Tatooine.

Despite taking place thousands of years before the film trilogy, recognizable iconography is present, including the many-toothed Sarlacc, a giant Sandcrawler, and a Mos Eisley-ish looking spaceport that could very well be another "wretched hive of scum and villainy." No word yet as to whether you'll be able to "bullseye womp rats" in your "T-16."

Star Wars: The Old Republic is coming out for the PC, though the release date hasn't been revealed; however, closed beta applications are still being accepted.

Still not 100% convinced about the WoW-ish looks.

It doesn't seem to look as sharp as WoW.

I think he means "angular", not "crisp".

For me sharp = slick, or really appealing. I feel like WoW does it a little better. Based on these, I'd rather look at WoW than this at the moment.

Yes, actually. Jade Empire for example. Looked good, played like crap. ME felt like generic sci-fi and I disliked the combat.

Mass Effect was a letdown. I havent been crazy for any of their games since BG II. Even DA:O, for all of its branching storylines, doesnt have the charming personality that is Minsc!

Jade Empire was a steaming pile.

I'm not getting that when I look at the screen shots, but I suppose now days most 3D content does look the same.
