Divinity 2 Demo Hits PC, Xbox 360

By Alice O'Connor, Dec 21, 2009 8:10am PST "A glance at the first hours" of Larian's fantasy action RPG Divinity II - Ego Draconis can be now be sampled courtesy of a demo released today, available in PC form in a 1.77GB download from FileShack and for Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Divinity 2 stars a dragon slayer who ends up cursed to turn into a dragon, taking to the skies for dragon-on-dragon combat. What are the chances of that happening, eh?

Gone gold and already released in Europe last month, Divinity II - Ego Draconis arrives on North American shelves for PC and Xbox 360 on January 5.

  • The difficulty's a bit silly. Mostly it's only hard because there's no indication what level range a quest is. After playing the demo for an hour or so I'd already stumbled into a few quests many levels above mine and promptly got slaughtered. It was a poor decision to disallow saving in the demo, because the last time this happened I was dumped back to the last autosave about half an hour ago.

Still, the production values are pretty good for a relatively minor developer and I enjoyed it when I wasn't being murdered by surprise level 10 dudes. Worth a look.
