  I think the NES Mega Man games hit this interesting plateau where people just wanted more. More levels, more enemies, more powers, etc. I've played MM7 (SNES) and MM8 (PSX/Saturn) and I just didn't like them as much. But I could play Mega Man forever.
  
  Back when I worked at Babbage's (~1999-2000) was when the Infinity Engine games were coming out. Baldur's Gate and its expansion, BG2 and its expansion, Icewind Dale 1&2, Planescape Torment, etc. We had people coming in wanting more. They had bought all of these games and all their expansions and played through them all and wanted more. They had played through them again and wanted more. They just wanted more.
  
  I think Mega Man is one of those franchises where yeah you could go through and play the old games, and plenty of people do, but you really just want to play more.
