Assassin's Creed 2 Trailer Details DLC

After announcing two Assassin's Creed 2 downloadable content packs for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with nary a word of explanation, Ubisoft Montreal has put creative director Patrice Desilets in front of a camera to explain what we can explain from the pair.

'The Battle of Forli' arrives at the end of January, inserting Ezio into the historical battle to defend the city of Forli from the Orsi Family, while the end of February sees him learning a new "spring-jump" move as he foils book-burning monk Savonarola in 'Bonfire of the Vanities.' Reports floating around peg the packs at $3.99 and $4.99 respectively.

I loved the game. Fantastic piece of work all around.

But.

I am just a bit perturbed that this stuff was quite obviously withheld (extracted, intentionally left out, whatever) from the release just so they could squeeze an extra $9 out of people.

I kept expecting something wild in the game like a "data corrupt" sequence where parts of the city were missing or twisted in some crazy way. Sort of like the earlier missions of Alice...

I was hoping the DLC would be something cool like being able to explore Rome after seeing the Colosseum from a distance during the last section of the game. Does the Bonfire one at least open up the southern section of Florence across the river which is "not available" in the game even though it's in there but blocked off with the goofy border / grid thing?
