Entering into the spirit of Christmas and crass commercialisation, EA has released a Sims 3 trailer with its top ten reasons to gift the virtual dollhouse this holiday season--a list surely doubling as the top ten reasons many parents will be appalled by Boxing Day.

The Sims 3 sold 3.7 million copies in the two months following its June release, and an expansion World Adventures followed last month. And hey, shirtless posing vampires.

I liked the first two Sims. Maybe I'm just Simmed out? It's the only purchase I made this year that I regret. I only fired it up once.

That game was horrible. I loved the Sims 1 back in the day, but it really really got bad with 2 and 3. Sims 1 felt more like it was supposed to be real but fun.

The following games were hideous, but everyone else seems to love em.

Interesting to see game marketing so directly aimed at married women with kids. I'm sure there's more advertising like it out there, such as at the casual game portals, but it's something new for me.
