Homefront Sequel, DLC Planning Underway

The game--scripted by Red Dawn creator John Milius--will only tell part of a larger tale of North Korea's near-future invasion of the USA, THQ Core Games executive VP Danny Bilson said in an investor presentation attended by GameSpot, which will be expanded through an online promotional campaign and downloadable content.
"This is about a guy moving some fuel," said Bilson. "That's what the single-player is about, to restart some vehicles and retake the Golden Gate Bridge. It's the beginning of a story. We're going to tell this like a serial, with cliff-hangers. And then we intend to continue the story in [downloadable content], until we go to Homefront 2."
"People say, 'Why are you going into this Call of Duty space?' And it's because I know we can compete," he enthused. I know we can compete."
Homefront will hit PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 when it arrives at a time yet unknown.
THQ revealed in April that a sequel was already pencilled into the calendar for Vigil Games Darksiders, a full nine months ahead of the post-Apocalyptic action adventure's upcoming January 5 release for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

replyI don't consider a North Korean invasion of America remotely plausible. I just don't see NK having the resources to send an invasion force across the Pacific. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure once the NK soldiers see the awesome stuff we have on TV as they fight past a Sears...well, I am pretty sure they'll throw down their arms and say "eat shit Kim Jong Il!"

alright, maybe i watched it a little too much, but being a cold-war baby , if you asked me in 1983 how i would die i would have flatly told you "in a nuclear war with the USSR" that was the reality of those times.
I miss the Great Red Threat.. these past generations that lived without it just don't appreciate what it is to live with a REAL enemy, not the made up ones we get now.

Having the Cubans mount the invasion makes even less sense.
Now, "nuclear was with the USSR" was a very real threat. Because they had nukes, and someone could've gotten into power there who was just crazy enough to actually use them. But a land invasion-- by Cubans-- in Michigan? That's a more ludicrous premise than 2012.

one more thing... The Soviets were more than capable of invading the mainland early in the cold war but due to the US's technological advantages and the issue of re-supply, they missed their window of opportunity.

I joined the Army to fight against the Soviets.. fortunately the nation crumbled before the flashpoint ( GJ CIA! ) and that was not meant to be.. I instead was sent to Korea and saw the Communist threat first hand... it is real and an invasion could be pulled off but with immense losses on their part, shit we can't keep people from crossing our borders already.. with the right planning they could have an army here waiting for the orders to go. -
I thought we recently found out that the CIA had historically inflated the capabilities Russia had in order to boost the defense budget.

EVERY national defense expert exaggerated the capabilities of them.. it is better to err on the side of caution and what-not. I was done with freakin gusto ( Sorry about that whole credibility thing there Colin ) in the invasion of Iraq but that is a different story altogether

My version of the Red Dawn Remake has the North Koreans storming the Santa Cruz beach at the Boardwalk as part of a larger campaign by the Russians and communist countries.
In Red Dawn it was Cubans who air dropped in and COD4 made no sense at all.-
