Racing Trailer Crash Up: Split/Second vs. Blur

By Chris Faylor, Dec 01, 2009 2:52pm PST In a rather fortuitous coincidence, new trailers for both Black Rock's Split/Second and Bizarre Creations' Blur have been released by their respective publishers, allowing for easy comparisons of the racers coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.

First up is Split/Second, which centers around explosions and hits in May:

Next is Blur, which doesn't have a more specific release date than 2010 quite yet. It's being developed by Project Gotham Racing veterans Bizarre, and includes Mario Kart-esque power-ups plus a variety of customization options for more realistic play.

  • I played Split Second about four months ago. The game was in late alpha and looked more polished than the current videos for Blur do. I'm sorry, I liked what Bizarre Creations did for the PGR series, but the fact that they didn't have a build for us to play of their awful looking game, when Disney had four demo kiosks for an alpha build, should have been a clue. Blur IS a shitty Wipeout knock off. Split Second is Burnout on crack. There's no greater feeling than blowing up an airplane and having it crash and explode into a crowd of competitors.
