Nintendo revealed internal tracking numbers showing shoppers purchased more than 1.5 million units of Nintendo hardware, including the Wii, DS, and DSi over the Thanksgiving holiday week. For stat freaks that breaks down to about 150 Nintendo systems sold every minute or more than 2.5 systems per second sold between November 22nd and November 28th.

More than 550,000 Wii consoles were purchased indicating in part that people are pretty happy about the recent price-drop to $199.99. More than 1 million DS and DSi units were also sold, breaking Nintendo's previous all-time hardware sales record set by the Gameboy Advance during Thanksgiving week of 2002.

Unemployment is an insurance, paid for by taxing the companies you work for.
