New Prince of Persia Game Due Alongside Movie
by Chris Faylor, Nov 30, 2009 5:53pm PSTA new Prince of Persia video game will be released in May 2010, the same month the feature film based off the franchise hits theaters, publisher Ubisoft revealed today.
Dubbed "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands," the title is in development for "consoles and handhelds," and is said to mark a return to the "Sands of Time storyline" that inspired the upcoming film. The company added that the new game will pack "many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations."
Ubisoft had previously hinted at a possible movie tie-in, with series creator and film co-writer Jordan Mechner recently trademarking "The Forgotten Sands."
More information, including the first trailer, is slated to arrive during the Spike TV 2009 Video Game Awards, which air on Saturday, December 12 at 8 PM EST.

Thank god. After that abortion that was the previous game, i would love a return to the proper gameplay of Sands of Time and Two Thrones, and not the one long QTE that was Prince of Persia staring Nathan Nolan as Nathan Nolan

... Or did they just sell out for the movie, put continuing the last (amazing) game on hold and make a game to be related to the movie which will most likely not have much to do with the original game it's based on at all.
