Just Cause 2 Release Date Announced

Avalanche Studios' explosive and grappling open-world sequel Just Cause 2 will hit North American retailers on March 23, 2010, publisher Square Enix announced today.

All three versions of the game--PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360--will be released simultaneously, with the European release following on March 26, 2010. The action game sequel packs an all new island, along with the ability to grapple things together.

Along with the release date, Square Enix, which acquired the game's original publisher Eidos earlier this year, provided a handful of new screenshots (embedded above) and added that Just Cause 2 will still be released "under the EIDOS brand portfolio."

Totally agree, I loved the first one it was great (very well done sand box game), been looking forward to the follow up.

I just hope this time around PC users will not get the shaft graphics wise (from what I have scene the sequel will not have this issue), the first version received a bad port graphics wise on the PC and the shadders where stripped out of the engine, and in comparison to the 360 version the graphics looked real bad on the PC.

Who ever missed it on the 360, its worth picking up, you could probably find it dirt cheap, not that there is a shortage of games, but still.

Are you sure that isn't just a Directx 10 thing? If you don't have vista and a DirectX 10 video card, it will be missing shaders that the xbox supports. I had the same thing with Bioshock, the water wasn't nearly as pretty because I refused to buy vista so the water would look prettier.

Yeah, after having so much fun in Saints Row 2, I'm looking forward to another sandbox mayhem game.

I loved the first game, even as rough around the edges as it was, so I'm only super psyched for this.
