Supreme Commander 2 Release Dates Announced

Just one day after revealing that Supreme Commander 2 is due next spring, publisher Square Enix has announced specific dates.

Gas Powered Games' strategy sequel will hit North America in PC form on March 2, with the Xbox 360 edition following March 16.

Two rather enthusiastic quotes from GPG founder Chris Taylor--"The partnership with Square Enix has been a highlight of my career" and "I couldn't be more proud of what the team has accomplished, as the game has continually exceeded all of my expectations throughout its development"--accompanied the news, as did some new footage:

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

I hope so, because the first one wasn't that good.

I agree, I really wanted supcom to fill the void that cavedog left behind when they collapsed. The zoom is amazing, but the feel of the game just wasn't the same. This one I can tell reminds me a lot more of my TA days just from the map layout and music.

I tried Spring RTS once, but when I used the D-gun, the sound from it was 100x louder than everything else, and hurt my ears a bit. That's when I put it down I think. It's probably fixed now, but it wasn't a fun experience, especially when the D-gun is as powerful as it is.
