Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Announced
by Alice O'Connor, Nov 18, 2009 8:00am PSTIO Interactive today formally announced Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, the sequel to its million-selling 2007 shooter Kane & Lynch: Dead Men whose existence and name have both been public knowledge for quite some time now.
A press statement boasts "every aspect of the game has been designed to deliver a fresh perspective to the words 'intensity' and 'realism' in video games," with IO Interactive general manager Niels Jorgensen adding, "Gamers are always looking for something new and that is exactly what they are going to get with Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days."
"Introducing a new visual experience," the Hitman developer declares, "Dog Days is inspired by documentary filmmakers and the user-generated era" as it probes "the gritty Shanghai underworld." A pair of teaser trailers--included below--offer a distorted security camera perspective, though they of course do not necessarily reflect the game's style.
A Kane & Lynch movie is currently in production, with Bruce Willis set to star as Kane. Dog Days is slated to hit PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010.

Sucked.
There I said it.
BTW the Max Payne movie wasn't that bad either.
But I hate Brüno and Borat so much.

I wouldn't exactly say gamers are always looking for something new. Most times when there is something new to be tried, it results in a giant shitstorm. People rather have a concept that is known to work well executed than having some experimental overkill. Then again, that wasn't what he was saying anyway. I doubt it will be that new of a concept.
I kind of liked the first game, the splitscreen co-op on PC was a nice touch, and the presentation was slick. Some elements I didn't like, like some trial and error sequences and parts where you didn't know exactly what to do.

I do like IO and their Hitman games and Freedom Fighters. So, let's hope IO can fix a lot of the issues Kane & Lynch: Dead Men had in this new sequel here.
And please don't use G4WL. When I played K&L:DM on the PC, NOBODY was playing this online. And I was looking forward to the MP. What a waste. Use some dedicated servers, Steam, or GameSpy or something some people actually use.

The single player was average at best.

Sorry, I was really excited for Kane & Lynch, and it was just awful. Was it as awful on consoles as it was on PC or did we just get another bad port?
