Facebook Coming to PlayStation 3 in Next Update

Joining the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DSi, the PlayStation 3 is the latest game console to integrate Facebook, as Sony has confirmed that the system's next firmware update--v3.10, due "soon"--will add support for the social networking site.

At this point, linking one's PlayStation Network and Facebook account allows three kinds of automatic Facebook updates--Trophies, PlayStation Store Purchases, Game Events--that can be toggled on or off. "This is just the beginning of our integration with Facebook and we are looking forward to adding new features," PlayStation Network operations director Eric Lempel explained on the PlayStation.Blog.

Other changes in the update include a revised look for both Photos and PSN Friends, with the latter stemming from feedback to the tweaks made in the v3.00 update.

Love my PS3 but please Sony add shit we WANT
Cross game chat, maybe add youtube? Improve the media playback functionality.
Let me turn on my PS3 remotely and add download games to a queue remotely.
Don't add fucking facebook - who gives a shit, that's why I have a PC.

This is dumb on Xbox and dumber on PS3. You have to pay for XBL, so I understand hyping it up with gimmicky redundant features like this. However, PSN is free. Give me mkv support and better community features for GAMES.

I get facebook on my phone, friends get it on their iphone, any smartphone now pretty much. Facebook is browsed by nearly everyone with a computer at work. I doubt they want to use it on their gaming system at home.
