by Chris Faylor, Nov 16, 2009 4:19pm PSTBorderlands had "the fastest-selling original property video game launch of 2009," developer Gearbox proclaimed today alongside word of the imminent PC patch.
Exact sales figures for the shooter-RPG, which hit consoles and PC in October, weren't provided. Sales-tracking firm NPD recently revealed that the Xbox 360 version sold 418,000 copies in the United States during October, with the PlayStation 3 version netting sales of 113,000. Combined, the two SKUs rival chart topper Uncharted 2.
The first expansion, The Zombie Island of Dr. Zed, is slated to hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a paid download on November 24, with at least one more expansion on the way. The expansion will also make its way to PC, though when has yet to be announced.
In addition, Gearbox revealed that the first patch for the PC edition of Borderlands, is due this evening and is already in the hands of various digital distribution outlets, though it offered no details as to exactly what the v1.01 update will do, contain or fix.
Update: The patch plus a list of its various tweaks and changes are now available.
An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Borderlands outsold Uncharted 2. Thanks to Shai-Tan for pointing out the error.

Some of the fixes are welcomed, but it hardly even touches on what problems there are with the game. Here's to hoping the patch was much more/there will be more fixes.
