  • I think if there was an option to make the BFG less spammy (make it fire 3 rounds at normal speed...have a 2 second delay...and ready again). DM12 and DM14 would both kick ass, and it would add a tool to the arsenal of custom mappers (another reason I'm enthusiastic about the nail and others in the new addon pack). I'd really like to see id add an option for a 3 shot delay BFG in the server set up menu...in fact I'd like to see a sub-menu of such options in the server set up menu (ala the DM-flags menu in Q2)...it could have a weaponstay option (for FFAs), an option to choose weapon respawn time (5 sec, 10, 20 ), it could have an option for 100 health respawns and other non physics/weapon issues...this would give more options to server admins and tourney organizers...the BFG option would effectively add another weapon to the players arsenal (since the BFG now is worthless for 1v1 and TP in general...too spammy for anything taken mildly seriously); and it would make more levels acceptable for more than just FFA (which is a problem right now...DM14 could be as good a Team map as Q1DM3 was back in the day if the BFG were made very powerful...but not insane; as it is currently.

    Nope, the jump-pad shoots you quickly to the other side, so you can't avoid mid-air collisions. They should have removed the needle's eye type structure in the middle of that area and allowed you some more movement on the jump-pads. That area would be damn fun then. And maybe replace the void with lava so that you have a chance of escaping instead of dying immediately...oh well, I still like the map, especially for instagib.
