Namco Readying Tekken 6 Online Patch

In a terse mailing, Namco Bandai today passed along word that it is working on downloadable update to Tekken 6 it hopes will "improve the online game experience."

The update will be available to players of the recently released PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 fighting game "as soon as it has passed rigorous testing procedures." More details, including specifics on the addressed issues, are said to be coming "shortly."

Though we're still in the dark as to what the patch will contain, we do know that it won't pack online cooperative play for Scenario Mode, as Namco was quite clear that the previously promised co-op update will arrive separately this winter.

Online is terrible right now in this game. Not only does the game run slower, at like 30 fps max instead of regular 60, there's also significant delay between key input and action. Makes the game really unplayable.

  yeah, I have over 100 ranked matches under my belt but id say 50% of them were pretty laggy, which is a shame. I'm sure I'm connecting to people in Japan etc. but it is a bit ridiculous at how slow it gets. Otherwise this is a great game, best Tekken so far.

      I would have to say Tekken Tag Tournament for the simple fact that swapping 2 guys in and out al la MvC2 is very fun.

        ok i'm gonna at least rent this. the last few tekkens have been shite in my mind, with tag and tekken 3 being the (long lost) pinnacles.

      For me, Tekken 3 was all consuming for its time. My buddies and i would play it way too much. The best of times... But I might go w tag tournament for fun factor.

        I agree, 3 and TTT were awesome. I think 6 feels like 3 but with most of the Tekken Characters, Including Eddie and his doppelganger Christine (both of which should have never been in another Tekken game if you ask me).
        
        Definitely a fun game tho and online play really makes it worth while, assuming the get this lag fixed :P

  I actually liked 4 a lot, sure it was different, but it was fun.
  
  Anyone else miss actual Story Mode? I feel like I no longer care about the characters due to the omission of dedicated story mode (a la T5).
