New Q3Fortress Coming

There's an update on the Q3Fortress site, announcing May 6 as the release date for the new beta, version 1C.

Beta1c should address a number of issues that players are currently experiencing with game-play and bugs, plus include some new content in the form of art and sound fx. We're also doing everything we can to resolve the current problems that Mac users are experiencing and hope to have this fixed for Beta1c too.
After this release they will be working on the next major beta, beta2. This release will include new maps. Check some screenshots of the new levels, for more of them hit their screenshots page.

  • the minigunner is just a taret at the moment, just like he is in qwtf also. What is need to make the class a good one is to use the (gasp! sacriledge!) 20mm cannon from megaTF, its the only thing in mega that I liked and made a minigunner( hwguy) a great in-fort defender. The 20mm uses so much ammo though, that it's impractical to go on offense with a hwguy and thats the way that class should be. Now that sentries take so long to lock on, a scout can get the flag to the exit on the flagroom and then another teammate can get it out. But, I like what they did with sentries because its no longer "put up 3 sentries in the flagroom and the game is over". I still think pyros (flametroopers) are too powerful with all that napalm spam. Either shorten the napalm duration or give them only ONE napalm, same goes for nails and mirv's.
