Evening Reading: Dragons and Zombies

I'm going out on a limb here and betting that more than a couple of you will be spending most of this evening in the Left 4 Dead 2 demo, Dragon Age Origins, or both. We were talking about the fall gaming deluge today and figured that we're already past the midpoint. Looking at the release list, Modern Warfare 2 looms over the remaining pre-Thanksgiving releases and after that everyone's in the fray. That gives us December to play games. But it isn't a long break. The first part of next year holds plenty of big releases.

And you probably thought I was going off on some rant about enough already with the Dragons and Zombies. Yeah, right. Bring 'em.

I'm considering a similar upgrade, though I was eyeing a gtx 260. Being a cheapass, your mention of a 4850 is mighty nice sounding as well...

Your 8800GT will run everything until a new console comes out because no one wants to push the envelope ever since Crysis was a financial success huge disappointment in sales.

playing as a human noble warrior and the origin has some pretty weighty decisions right off the bat.

yea i've played the dwarf commoner and most of the mage beginning and both are really well done. makes me want to finish out the rest of the openers before deciding who to proceed with.

after tonight i'm sticking with mage. my biggest concern is what spec to go. really going to depend if blood magic makes you the bad guy or if you can still be good and go that way. or maybe i can be the person to prove that everyone's reservations about the usefulness of blood magic are wrong!

yeah I'm not sure what I'll do for a specialization, I just hit level 5 so I'll need to decide somewhat soon. Seems like Blood Mage won't be making you any friends...

That's actually the first time this game has looked interesting to me. The tactics programming seems neat! A minimum of 60 hours though (and I know it would be much more the way I play) ... oy. Can't see myself signing up for that any time soon.

I just like video reviews. They tend to leave a lot of it up to you and just show you the damn footage when they are talking about something that they like/bugs them.

GT should be a shitty site that just throws up game trailers and stuff but their original content is some of the best videogame video content on the whole internet. Between them, Giantbomb, Shack, and maybe RPS or one or two other sites you have all you need.

I haven't watched the review, but yes, it is possible to have gay sex in the game, and I assume your character's race won't change that, although I think the only character who will have gay sex with you is an elf
