Those who fall for GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl fall hard, so the open-world RPG-ish shooter is worth a punt for $5 on Steam. replyI love single player RPGs, but still haven't picked up The Witcher. I guess I have no choice now. :)

I loved the witcher at first, but after a while it wears thin. For $20 it's not a bad risk. The graphics and quests are fine, but the combat can be irritating. You click to swing, then click in time to combo your swings. It's like a long quick-time event with clicking. So the game will strongly appeal to the rpg'r in you with lots of side quests and items, but it's up to personal preference whether dealing with the swordplay is worth it.

Noted. Fortunately, I'm not to picky about gameplay mechanics. I think Gothic 3 is the only RPG I've played with combat that has annoyed me.
