Excitebike: World Rally Coming to WiiWare on November 9th

Excitebike: World Rally, an updated version of the NES classic Excitebike, will be available for WiiWare download on November 9.

Announced via the Wii's online Nintendo Channel, the game has an enhanced 2.5-D look, a Track Editor, and four-player online multiplayer capability. More information, including the price of admission, has yet to be revealed.

I wonder if the awesomeness comes from nostalgia or its pure simplicity. Games today are so complex and so involved and many times they don't even turn out good. Games like this, of yesteryear were simple, easy to get into, simple and fun. I guess they all have their niche.

lol when I was 6 I put my copy of Excitebike in (or near) the toaster. It made a big bubble of melted plastic on the case. It was awesome..

I used to make tracks that were nothing more than those little tiny jumps. over and over and over again.

i used to love excitebike on my original gameboy, this looks to have the same feel.. unfortunately maybe a little too much, see how the bikes land after going 100 ft in the air lol, they land like bricks, the least they could have done was added a small amount of bounce to the bikes to be a little more realistic with the physics..
