BioShock 2 Trailer Warns of Loneliness

I'm posting in hopes that one of the designers on Bioshock 2 reads it or somebody from the new team. What happened to level design in Bioshock 2? What I'm referring specifically is the art design. Not a single screenshot or video has been posted that shows an interesting environment. All rooms are square with little to no props/detail in them. The only lines are horizontal and vertical. Original Bioshock had numerous interesting areas I can name off the top of my head such as the after New Year party with big round globe, Dr. Steinman's offices, the gardens, to name a few. In other words those areas had a story to them, felt like a place that had people live in them. Bioshock 2 environments are just sterile rooms. Level visuals downgraded for this sequel. On the other hand character and concept art has improved drastically since the original. I really hope that you got some stuff hidden in your sleeve.

-Method

A lot of this, for me, is missing the style and presentation of the original. A trailer with tons of fast paced action music? Seems appropriate for Wolfenstein, but not Bioshock. I didn't really play Bioshock as the ultimate FPS shooter.

I'm surprised there are so many who think the first one was so good.

Wow. You know, Ive had the first game sitting in the box for about 7 months now. Why don't i just take it out and finally play it? This looks really good.

Nice. Looks like BioShock 2 has real guns. Thats good. BS was such a horrible shooter.

A little off topic but did they ever release any map/level making tools for Bioshock 1?.

Who thought for any minute that Bioshock would be a good multiplayer game?

Bioshock had awesome single player. It was the story that made the game enjoyable. Multiplayer FTL.

Asides from trying to make a sequel to a nearly great game, I'm horribly hesitant to deal with anything 2K after the Borderlands fiasco, both regarding the street date fiasco and horrible region release planning.

BS2 looks uninteresting and seems to lack what did make the first good.

Interesting shotgun there. Hopefully they're working on tuning the PC version mousecode to be a lot better than what was in Bioshock 1.
