Killing Floor Large Update, Free Weekend Announced

18
Thursday will see the arrival of a hefty update for co-op survival shooter Killing Floor as well as a long weekend of free play, developer Tripwire Interactive has announced.

The "Level Up" content pack will bring three new maps, one monster and seven weapons, which IGN preview reveals to be an automatic shotgun, a healing gun, two rifles, plus grenade launchers and proximity mines for the brand new 'Demolition' class.

Those eager to start the monster-slaying survival fun can already pre-load Killing Floor on Steam for when the long weekend of free play kicks off on Thursday.

This totally should of been a sequel, how dare they pack it into free dlc!

    BOYCOTT! :P

But in all seriousness, thats awesome. This game has it's moments even though it lacks the polish of L4D. Great weapons and I love shopping in between waves.

Yes, the one advantage Killing Floor has over Left 4 Dead is superior weapons in terms of "feel". I doubt the melee weapons are anywhere as good as Left 4 Dead 2's, though.

Dual wielding handcannons has never felt as awesome in a game as it does in Killing floor.

The weapons in this game are all pretty good in my opinion. The shotguns have a lot of 'weight' to them and the flamethrower works wonderfully. I just with the firebug didn't have to wait a couple of rounds to be able to afford his weapon (unless things have changed since I last played it).

I also can't wait for the new game made - they're really piling it on with this patch.

Yeah the new class sounds pimp, demolition would definitely make me take a break from support specialist.

At Firebug lvl 5, you start with the flamethrower. Each of the other lvl 5 perks also start with a weapon.

The 'feel' of the melee weapons could be better, but the mechanics of them are pretty good. Aim matters, etc. Fairly nuanced.
