Shack PSA: Assassin's Creed PC $5 on Steam

by Nick Breckon, Oct 20, 2009 7:00pm PDT

The PC version of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed has been marked down to just $5 on Steam as part of a midweek madness sale. The sale will run up to Thursday.

Called the Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut, the PC game features four extra mission types over the console version: archer assassination, rooftop race challenge, merchant stand destruction challenge and escort challenge.

If you skipped the first game but are eying the sequel, now is the time to buy in: Assassin's Creed II (360, PS3) hits stores on November 17. Thanks to Evil Bones for the heads-up.

  • LOL. Funny story guys!

So there was this massive thunderstorm last night that cut the power to half of my neighborhood and my whole family woke up an hour late for work/school because none of our alarm clocks went off. Well, I had left my computer on before I went to sleep and I realized that the electricity going off would have shut it down. It just so happens that I had removed the backup power cell for my motherboard a week ago (for certain reasons, like using the battery in something else :P) and with no power reserve the motherboard reset itself. Because my motherboard reset itself, the time connected to my IP address was pushed all the way back to last sometime back in 2007. To cut a long story short, I ended up staying at home today and saw this deal around 11:00am, long after it should have been down! I hurriedly opened Steam, clicked the link, saw that it was still $5, and bought it! After downloading the game I changed my date and time to the present, went back to see if the deal was there, and was stunned to see that it had disappeared and as replaced my a discount on ARMA 2! Assassin's Creed is just one of those games that I have never played, so when I checked my bank account later, and saw that exactly 5 dollars had been deducted, it just confirmed that I got hella lucky today.

Well I thought it was funny.
