Oh no, repeating textures. What does this guy want? For each inch to have a new texture so that load times increase and play times slow down. Sounds like he was going throught the game just looking for things to bitch about.
Hey jackass, ALL fps use repeating textures.

Steve, why did you post this bs? To show the lack of real Daikatana criticism? hehe

Don't get me wrong, there is value in the demo, but it comes in the form of little things, like the game menu and the level loading progress bar, and some of the sound effects. I am a huge fan of fps games, yet I still can't remap the JUMP command to the mouse2 button. It used to be click on the key you want changed, then hit the new key you want to use for that function. Not anymore, now you click on it, you see the ???, and when you select your new key/button, nothing happens.
My biggest complaint is that the screen is full almost all the time, meaning there are few open areas to give our eyes a rest and take in the view. The Greek ourdoors was one such place, and soon we were back underground, kissing cold stone. It's obvious the levels with sidekicks are more accomodating than the levels without, because there's simply more room to manuever. I couldn't imagine a sidekick even fitting in on the first demo level. I'm no stranger to dungeon crawls, but even in the outdoor swamp I felt closed in.
There is a strong water theme. Lots of running brooks, waterfalls, and dripping. After a bit, the novelty of seeing running water got old. Even in the frozen mountain level, we see yet another stream.
Like I said, it's got value, but it comes in small doses, and you've gotta look for it.
Thanks!

very detailed, that one you posted saying "screaming playschool" looked good :)
IMO, remember that

wait for the full version and then check out the overall gameplay.
He had some valid points, and I don't really care for the demo either, but this "review" was really dumb.
