Splatterhouse Gets Longer Delay, New Shots

14
Once due sometime this year and then postponed to "early 2010" after developer BottleRocket was pulled off the project, Namco Bandai's Splatterhouse--a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 revamp of the classic horror franchise--has been delayed again.

In issuing several new screenshots of the game, Namco today provided word that Splatterhouse is now slated to arrive in Q3 2010--a period that runs from July 1 through September 30. The reasons behind the delay were not specified.

Splatterhouse is now being developed internally at Namco Bandai. BottleRocket, the game's original developer, later shut down after "fighting to keep the doors open."

Why does it look cel-shaded now? What the fuck was Namco thinking taking Bottlerocket off dev duties?!

ok calm down, maybe not cel-shaded, but there's certainly a different look now. Am I the only one that sees the black outline around the main character.

I still think the black outline makes it look cel-shaded, how about you look up what the word means. As there are different techniques and forms of it as well. Overzealous prick..

Um... that's called "putting a line around something." Real cel shading isn't done much anymore, but people use SOME of the techniques for graphics now.

So I am a prick for saying something perfectly normal? Great.

And no, it is not. Cel shading is a rendering method and not putting an outline around objects.

"Cel-shaded animation (also called cel-shading or toon shading) is a type of non-photorealistic rendering designed to make computer graphics appear to be hand-drawn. Cel-shading is often used to mimic the style of a comic book or cartoon."
