Shack PSA: Buy 2 Games, Get 1 Free at Toys R Us

Forget discounts on select titles, Toys R Us has put its entire catalog of games on sale with this week's "Buy 2, Get the 3rd Free" offer.

Available both in-store and online, the retailer's promotion runs from today until the close of business on Saturday, October 17.

A few standard restrictions apply: the free game "must be of equal or lesser value to the lowest priced item purchased," and pre-orders for upcoming titles don't count.

Then again, given the loaded last few weeks of releases, not to mention Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend this week, that last bit may be more of a blessing than a curse.

the web site fails at putting brutal legend and/or uncharted 2 in my cart (today at least), ah well, Mario and Sonic at the Winter Games (wii and ds), plus umm... Mario Kart Wii for my sister.

Also, thought it was worth mentioning this applies to accessories too (not that you can mix and match with games, but buy 2 accessories, get 1 accessory free), which means it's a perfect time to pick up extra controllers or rechargeable batteries for your consoles.

If you want to get Borderlands using this deal, I believe you can buy some other game then exchange it for Borderlands next week, just make sure you don't open the other game or they'll only let you exchange it for the same game.

I have Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend preordered from Gamestop and have free overnight shipping for both of them. I really wanted to get the GOTY Edition of Fallout 3 but figured I would wait until the holidays and save myself the money. Upon hearing about this deal, I almost want to cancel my preorders from gamestop and try TRU to get the GOTY Edition of Fallout 3 for free. I decided to stick with the gamestop order I had, considering I wouldn't get lucky at TRU. Any thoughts, forum?

Last time this sale was offered it seemed like they pulled all the good titles off the shelves in a kind of "bait and switch" maneuver.
