Halo Vets Form Moonshot Games
by Alice O'Connor, Oct 09, 2009 7:04am PDTThree Bungie alumni have launched Moonshot Games, a new developer "dedicated to exploring the uncharted spaces of high-quality downloadable games," via Variety.
Halo 2 and Halo 3 production manager Michel Bastien leads the mission as managing director, while Moonshot's creative director Rob Stokes served as designer and writer on Halo and Halo 2 then Halo 3 design lead, and former Bungie AI and gameplay engineering lead Damian Isla is the new studio's director of technology.
The developer's "maiden flight" is currently in development and will "remain top secret until the craft makes moonfall," with Moonshot claiming it is "set to establish a permanent presence on this exciting new world in the gaming universe."
"The Moonshot team firmly believes that the stars need not be limited to multimillion-dollar projects supported by armies of ground crew," read's Moonshot's launch report. "There is a place in history for that small, nimble craft, built smartly on a modest budget, and piloted by expert hands."
