Microsoft Plans Public Beta for Xbox 360 Integration of Facebook, Twitter, Last.FM

19
A public beta of the dashboard update that will bring Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM to Xbox Live is coming soon, according to MTV.

Xbox entertainment manager Jennifer Puzio-Brookes said the beta will begin in "middle-towards-end of October." Beyond traditional Facebooking, Facebook Connect will allow Xbox 360 users to post screenshots and text while in games that support the functionality.

Twitter and Last.FM will operate more or less as they do elsewhere, though Xbox Live Silver account members will only be able to use Last.FM on a trial basis. A premium, subscription-based service for Last.FM is also planned.

Do we really need twitter on the Xbox? Seriously?

Last.fm is cool because it gives the xbox more "media device" cred, but twitter and facebook integration is just dumb. Bet it somehow opens loopholes that lets people accounts get hacked...

And that was a comment of shoddy implementation, not really any paranoia. You know your stuff can get hacked right now, right? lol. Best to not even use my account, yeah, yeah, then.....then they, THEM!!, can't get to my account, they can't get to what isn't......OMG I FORGOT TO CHANGE MY PASSWORD AGAIN!!!
