Battlefield 2, Five Other EA Games Hit Steam

Continuing to expand its Steam offerings, Electronic Arts today released six more titles on the distribution platform, including DICE's classic multiplayer shooter Battlefield 2.

The new additions are listed below. Sadly, there's no discount to celebrate the new arrivals, which Steam is known to do from time to time.

Battlefield 2: Complete Collection - $29.99
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising - $19.99
The Godfather - $9.99
The Godfather II - $39.99
Medal of Honor: Airborne - $9.99
Need for Speed: Shift - $49.99

Update: Impulse has also added Battlefield 2: Complete Collection at $29.99.

Any way to add the BF2 pack to our Steam list if we own the original BF2 + Special Forces add-on? Can we just input the cdkeys like some other games on Steam?

Sure would make my life easier every time I reformat, BF2 is the worst to reinstall with all the multiple 1-2GB patches..

BF2 price is bullshit. More money for the convenience of a digital download? I don't get it.

I understand it matches the cost of the retail product but isn't it obsolete now with the FREE inclusion of the "booster packs" in 1.5?

Nice! Battlefield 2 on steam is good news to me, removes the pain in the ass to update and hunt down discs. $30 seems a bit expensive though, $20 would be more like it.

I probably would have sold BF2 for $10 if I were EA. Last I checked BF2 was selling for $10 at retail and the newest patch includes the two boosters. I guess they're claiming that BF2: Special Forces is worth $20.

And where's BF 2142? They could release a Battlefield Complete Collection with BF 1942, Vietname, 2, 2142, and the expansions. They could sell that for $30, knowing that no one is going to play BF1942 if they have BF2. It looks like more value because you get more games, but they're games you won't play.

I was so looking forward to playing bf2 again after that giant patch was released a few weeks ago. To bad after installing everything again bf2 turned out to be such a let down these days. Every server I go on turned out to be nothing but a clusterfuck of bunny hopping nade spamming smacktards, what a difference a few years make.
