Been on a bit of a zombie kick lately. Watched both "28 ..... Later" movies recently, been reading about some of the Romero movies and plan to watch more of them as time goes on.
After reading a lot about different zombie types and all that, I think I prefer the 28 Days/L4D/Resident Evil type only because it's more feasible, and in turn, more frightening. Not because of their speed, but because of the way they become zombies. A virus is more likely than radiation carried from a satellite from Venus.
Then I also started to think about why zombies are so popular. Why are zombies such a draw for people? Zombie Survival Plans, books, movies, games, etc. Some people even wish a zombie outbreak would happen so they could put their plans into action and damn they are so much fun to discuss. So let's discuss!

Some movies like "Shaun of the Dead" do a good job of showing just how anyone can become a zombie. "Zombieland" was just plain fun to go see, bringing the quirks of OCD into the fray. The book "World War Z" was interesting to read to see a zombie outbreak on a global scale. I'm starting in on "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" just to see how the original Victorian romance story meshes with the placement of zombies in its setting.
I just love seeing how people take zombies and put in an interesting "message" in their movies while still producing lots of bloody violence and gore eye-candy.
