Automotive Zombiefest 'Zombie Driver' Announced

With the zombie-slaying genre growing more crowded by the day, Exor Studios seeks to stand out from the pack with an undead bloodbath set on four wheels--Zombie Driver.

Grand Theft Auto meets the initial British release of Carmageddon.

Huge weapons including miniguns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers and dual railguns can be bolted onto a variety of cars, all of which can be upgraded with money gained by completing quests and, naturally, making the assorted undead extradead.

Zombie Driver is slated for a downloadable release on PC in November, with Exor saying it'll help fund work on its free Source-based vehicular combat mod D.I.P.R.I.P.

Seventeen missions with bonus objectives and subquests will feature in the open-world city, such as the action-packed rescue mission shown in the following trailer.

These developers need to stop with the zombie shit already. Left 4 Dead already set the bar for zombie games, so if you cant make a better one than Left 4 Dead, don't bother.

Does anyone remember Dead Rush? That game looked fantastic.. Semiprocedural ragdoll years before anything else managed it - was going to be a split between third person shooting and driving, surviving in zombie infested cities. Zombies would cling to the vehicle and climb up things, hanging ragdoll by fingertips and getting ripped apart.. Beautiful.

Was to be an xbox game..

.. died.. ._. Possibly the most tragic game death ever.

Considering the way people are about OMG the children these days, using zombies instead of real people (like carmageddon did) is a socially acceptable way for developers to give us the vehicular mayhem and gore we would expect of anything in this particular genre..

Bravo to the developers for figuring that out..
