Tekken 6 Trailer Features Lots of Real Life Fighters, Surprisingly Little Tekken

Evander Holyfield and a legion of other real-world fighters star in this montage, which explores their various motivations behind entering the arena. What exactly this has to do with Tekken 6, which isn't mentioned up until the very end, I have no idea.

Namco Bandai's fighter sequel, which as far as we know does not feature any of these athletes in any capacity beyond this promotional campaign, hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 27. A handheld edition of the game is due on PSP later in the fall.

Here's what Namco had to say about the video. It doesn't help much.

I don't even know what to say, it's like watching a documentary about some fighters and then there's a tekken 6 commercial.

seriously, why would we want to watch anything but footage of Tekken when we are watching a video for Tekken.

As far as I'm concerned, if your promo video is mostly developers talking to the camera and live action footage, then that's because you really don't have anything good to show. Except in this case, I've played Tekken 6 when I was in Japan last spring and it looks and plays great, they have plenty to show off.
