Shack PSA: Direct2Drive $5 Sale Goes Indie

10
The fourth week of Direct2Drive's big five dollar sale sees a number of indie games brought down from their already-cheapened price points. 2D Boy's World of Goo is there of course, but so is Hidden Path's tower defense game Defense Grid: The Awakening and Chronic's platformer Gish. Paradox's Mount and Blade and Tale of Tales' The Path also made the list.

The full cadre follows:

  • Mount and Blade
  • World of Goo
  • Defense Grid: The Awakening
  • Sword of the Stars
  • Cogs
  • Light of Altair
  • The Path
  • Bridge Construction Set
  • Gish
  • Zatikon

I just played some more yesterday. They should license their Horse Riding module to MMOs.

Good call sir. I would suggest checking out their forums for some of the mods, such as the battle size increaser, and there are several graphical mods, texture replacements, HDR lighting, more bushes and grass on the ground, etc that are also very nice.

While the combat "Feels" really good on any difficulty setting, you may find it to not be challenging enough on lower difficulties. The physics of it still feels very cool, but its pretty easy to be a "one man wrecking crew" on lower difficulties.
