HoN
Armadon - more like AWESOMEadon.
Played 2 games with him last night that were both stellar. This guy is amazing. I need help with builds/item loadouts though. I usually go with my standard:
2x Pretenders (into bracelets)
2x Runes
1x Mana Pot
Marchers eventually
Depending on casters or not I go into either
Helm or Shaman's then for the moneyshot with a Behemoth's. With my ult and spine spamming I can be mobile enough to escape and let my heart regen kick in. Usually don't get to build much more as both games ended pretty quickly.
Seems like best early lane gank build would start with
Spines
Snot
Spines
Armordilla?
How do you guys do the 'tower diving' with him? Is there some trick to turning around so the tower hits you in the rear?
His sounds ARE fucking annoying though.-

I just end up feeling like I am a feeder and not aggressive enough. Just makes the 40 minute game frustrating and ends up becoming a downward spiral of rage :(
The items were a huge turn off for me when the game first launch, although with the recommended items feature added I could possibly enjoy it more. That's one major thing about LoL I like. Maybe I'll try it again this weekend. I'll have to make a new account though, my PSR is probably all sorts of fucked. -

CORRECT. this gelfing now lives at my desk which is why I'm always on the couch with my laptop and thus can't yell into my mic

you really should, SM me your email for an invite. Just beware the learning curve is brutal but man it's fun. It's like you take WoW + Battlegrounds and condense the whole thing into a 45min-1hr session and remove the quests.
You pick a hero, level him up by killing stuff for exp. Get gold to buy gear which you can upgrade and you kill other heroes.

He is a direct port of witch doctor from DOTA. Assassin's shroud now works with his ult without breaking the channeling, its a recent change.
Staff of the master is my favorite build because it greatly increases the damage from his ult. Getting an astrolabe is really nice as he can be a powerful healer with it and it makes him rather tough to kill.
Some people will recommend a codex to synergize with cursed ground and as far as heroes that codex works on he's best, but as always there are probably better items out there. Totem is always a good choice, as is frostwolf so people can never get away. -
1. he is based on the witch doctor, the skill they replaced was an AoE heal that drains mana really fast.
2. yes it does work.... but it is quite a pubbish thing to do, as there are many heroes that have an AoE stun that will interrupt your ult regardless of whether you're visible or not, and most organized teams will buy dust when they notice somebody has invested in a shroud. OTOH, i really approve of it for setting up a good maledict/cursed ground --> cocktail --> ult.
3. he farms quickly, and you can really abuse the neutral camps with a maxed cocktail. he 's one of those heroes that can basically build anything and be successful. very item-independent. you might consider a codex if you farm well in the early game. i prefer shrunken head to assassin's shroud. staff of the master is great, but should be gotten later rather than earlier. totem and frostfield plate are both decisive factors in teamfights. some people that are very focused on ganking, get a portal key, but that's probably unnecessary against pub opponents. -

Tower dive by finding a hero that can't do much to you, charge your ass in spamming quills and snot. Generally they'll either run away which lets you get the back-damage reduction, or they'll run in circles around the tower, but generally you'll still get your side-damage reduction.
most of the time it consists of having full or close to full hp and finding heroes that are low, then chasing in to finish and getting the hell out before trouble comes. -

It's always the nights where I sit down with a goal to reach a certain PSR that I lose miserably, and the nights where I don't care at all that I go on winning streaks. Last night I intended on playing one game, and wound up staying up waaaay too late, drinking waaaay too much (sorry chem!) and winning 3 in a row with a couple other decent games mixed in.

if you want to play him as a ganker, bottle is awesome. if you're going to rice for mock of brilliance, you can probably skip it.
i usually go 2 shields and 1 runes
get a helm of the victim in the lane.. and decide on helm of the black legion or shaman's headdress. i usually end up getting the headdress, but sometimes i also decide to save up and go straight for mock of brilliance.
throw in bottle + normal marchers somewhere in there, maybe a beastheart if i need the hp. my goal is to basically have mock of brilliance by 20-30 minute mark. after that it's a push fest, and the gold doesn't stop rolling in.
post haste --> behemoth's heart --> daemonic breastplate -

yeah he's not OP because he has very little damage. If he were stronger, maybe, but right now he's just quite powerful. Great ult, kickass eyes, and a nasty combination for attacking agi heroes.
He doesn't really do shit damage so his vanish attack only ends up doing as much as like a blink strike from night hound.

I'm starting to find that the biggest impediment to my performance in a game is getting constantly ganked in the beginning, particularly when I'm playing a character I'm unfamiliar with. The other half of it is that I'm too passive to set up my own ganks, partially because I have a hard time trusting teammates and also because I'm a pansy.
-
without using the mic a gank is nigh impossible i feel unless you know how certain people play. I enjoy laning with a shacker who has a mic as I can just merrily follow their lead and it works out really well. I just feel like a tool talking into my crotch while my girlfriend sits there giving me weird looks (since laptop is on my lap and the mic is internal)
Just be really passive at the start and if you are melee against a ranged either swap lanes, get a ranged to lane with you or hold back and fight at the tower.-
hahah ganking is easily do-able without a mic once you're established enough in the game to know what your hero can do, what your allies heroes can do, and what the enemy team can do. You play the same matchups enough and you'll be able to predict exactly how a gank will go down, it takes almost zero coordination with your allies unless the enemy player is far more skilled than you or you're not used to that kind of gank setup.
dota has been around for many years with no mic capability and people have gotten along just fine. -

buy wards, this is the #1 reason people die to ganks. Just politley ask your teammates to buy wards too and 99% of the time others will too. You buy them first and point out the spot and usually your teammates will follow too.
Depending which lane im in ill ward the path from river and the inner tree are that leads to the lane from top or bottom.

I have developed an irrational love for Pollywog Priest and his host of disables. It's way too much fun to roam the map calling out ganks and trapping people in wards.
It's pretty funny to see someone helplessly trapped in wards getting focused to death.
What do ya'll think though, is it smarter to trap a hero in wards or protect a tower? I'd rather have a guaranteed kill than a tower at 40% health and 3 enemies dancing the tower still. -
