Nexflix Hopes to Expand to 'All the Game Consoles'
by Chris Faylor, Sep 23, 2009 11:30am PDTOnline movie rental agency Netflix hopes to one day expand its video streaming service to consoles other than the Xbox 360, CEO Reed Hastings recently told Reuters.
"Eventually we want to be on all the game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs," he explained." So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts. Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven't characterized it more than that."
Rumors of Netflix expanding its streaming service to PlayStation 3 and Wii have been circling for some time, with the company recently stepping up console development.
