Nexflix Hopes to Expand to 'All the Game Consoles'

Online movie rental agency Netflix hopes to one day expand its video streaming service to consoles other than the Xbox 360, CEO Reed Hastings recently told Reuters.

"Eventually we want to be on all the game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs," he explained." So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts. Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven't characterized it more than that."

Rumors of Netflix expanding its streaming service to PlayStation 3 and Wii have been circling for some time, with the company recently stepping up console development.

Would be REALLY nice to have Netflix do games on consoles. Sorry GameFly but your service to my Seattle area is fucking SLOW. You advertised a while back that you were putting a distribution center up here but never came through. Netflix has one just about everywhere, including Kent, WA so my turn around is excellent. Right now I have to go to Los Angeles, CA which is BS. GO NETFLIX

This would be cool news if they actually had ALL their movies, not just lame ones, ready to spool out digitally. As it stands now, it's a poor-man's mish-mash of movies. Get with the program, Netflix and you'll actually get somewhere.

Or you can just download Playon from Mediamall at a small one-time fee and get Netflix on all 3 systems right now. Even works with a Live Silver membership.

I get netflix with my Blu-ray player. I have had it setup for a couple of months now and am very happy with it. As a matter of fact I cancelled HBO and skinamax and aint missed it yet. The service allows me to try movies I would not have seen otherwise. Not all good movies are big budget films. Check out the movies, "The man from earth" or "The nines". Very good movies
