Need for Speed SHIFT Patch Adds LAN, Mouse Support

EA today patched the PC version of Need for Speed SHIFT, adding a few minor features to the recently released racer. The update brings support for "LAN (Local Area Network) play," which supposedly "enhances the multiplayer experience." Also added was something called "Mouse Support," a revolutionary new feature that provides "full menu navigation through the game using your PC mouse."

They should add, "YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A PAD TO PLAY". Tap left and your wheel is at a 90Â° angle.

  How else would they do keyboard controls in a racing game? Get yourself a $29 Wired 360 controller, there are PC drivers. Problem solved.

  Driving games on a keyboard is no fun. Gamepads are only slightly better. Give me my G25 racing wheel any day.

    Put your hand on the middle of the keyboard, kind of like the classic WASD, but instead make it TFGH.
    
    Then, D is 33.3% left, S is 66.6% and A is 100% . Same thing for JKL on the right.
    Problem solved! (I can only imagine how this would play!)

      Hmmm... Something is wrong with a configuration like that: there's still no pressure-sensitive substitute for gas/brakes.

      I don't know what kind of monkey hands you have, but I'm not sure if I could stand a full minutes worth of reaching from a to a <--> l on a keyboard with one hand.

  Trackmania works fine on a keyboard. I actually prefer it to the 360 controller. Driving games like Need for Speed Shift are entirely different, though.
