The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom Announced
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 22, 2009 5:37pm PDTLong-running city-building strategy series The Settlers will continue in spring 2010 with The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom on PC, Ubisoft announced today.
Coming from series creator and Dawn of Discovery developer Blue Byte, Settlers 7 features the usual fine-tuning of settlements to optimise transport and production, and three paths to triumph--military, science and trade--with a new victory points system.
The Settlers 7 also boasts a new graphics engine and improved AI with "more than a dozen AI profiles, each with unique behaviors," as well as several multiplayer modes with leaderboards, and support for "user-generated and downloadable content."

I mean, Settlers5 was crap, Settlers 6 had good idea but didn't feel like a Settlers...
And Ubisoft don't bother anymore making the other available anywhere but in Germany (the add-on for Settlers 2 Anniversary, or "Aufbruch den Kulturen"...)
Far too simple to last anyone more than 30 minutes. 1404 was good but still it was pretty simple.
The Settlers series has always been hit or miss, but ANNO 1404 proves that Blue Byte can make a masterpiece if they put the effort into it.
