The heavy metal fantasy landscape of Double Fine Productions' action adventure Brutal Legend is explored and explained in a new trailer, with art director Lee Petty showing off some bold concept art, face-rocking factions and electrifying weather effects.

Brutal Legend hits Xbox 360 and PlayStation on October 13--Rocktober 13, if you fancy. A demo arrives for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Thursday then for Silver members and PlayStation 3 on October 1, while pre-orderers already have their grubby mitts on it.

While not as technical, this is pretty close to the GDC 2008 presentation he gave on the art in the game. I'm glad they got it out there as it was probably the most impressive part of that GDC.

upon initial announcement, the game looked sorta cheesy, sorta cash-in-y. I've been pretty impressed with the trailers though, it looks pretty damn good.

Can't wait for this game! Has there been any word on how big the game world is? I'd love a huge one, but at the same time the personality and style of the world is more important than scale.
