Risen PC Goes Gold, Xbox 360 Version Delayed
by Chris Faylor, Sep 18, 2009 11:20am PDTMonths after dating Piranha Bytes' action-RPG Risen for October 2, publisher Deep Silver today revealed that the Xbox 360 edition has been pushed back to early 2010.
Despite the unexplained delay of the console iteration, the PC edition will still make the promised October 2 release, with Deep Silver noting that the latest from the Gothic veterans has "reached gold status" following months of bug testing.

And it has almost nothing in common with the classic Bioware games : those games (i like them still heh, don't hit me) are very linear, while in Gothic (and certainly in Risen), you are really in a world where you are free. You can go wherever you want, if you manage to go beyond the monsters :D
Not Elder Scrolls kind of freedom neither, Gothic was featuring a chapter system (until the third episode), which means, while you are free, sometimes when specific actions were done, tada, new chapter, and the story took a step further. (Hard to explain)
Anyway, if you are ready to give it a try, the first two Gothic are available on GoG I believe, and honestly, you can't go wrong with those. And if you like them, I believe you should survey Risen ;)
