Fighting Fantasy Media Shows Just That
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 17, 2009 12:12pm PDTFighting Fantasy, the gamebook series created by Games Workshop co-founders Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone, is taking another crack at video games with Big Blue Bubble's DS version of the very first title--The Warlock of Firetop Mountain from 1982.
The series' last game outing was in the so-so hack-and-slash Deathtrap Dungeon on PC and PlayStation in 1998. Looking great for the DS, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain also seems more faithful to its roots, boasting "in-depth NPC interaction," monsters to bash with hundreds of weapons and items, spells, stats and at least one warlock.
The Warlock of Firetop Mountain hits DS in October, with iPhone versions of five Fighting Fantasies also coming from BBB. Click on for a very attractive trailer.
