Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge Arrives in the PlayStation Store Next Week

The standalone downloadable release of Red Alert 3's "Commander's Challenge" mode will arrive on the PlayStation 3 come September 24, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

Developed by EA LA, the $10 download packs the 50 challenge maps that originally premiered in the game's PC-only "Uprising" expansion.

Highlights range from "armies of Japanese school girls and giant Soviet war bears to wrestling legend Ric Flair," said EA LA producer Wes Eckhart, who further added that the download packs "more than thirty hours of...RTS entertainment" and represents "the ultimate RTS gameplay experience console players have been waiting for."

As with the Xbox 360 version, which hit today, the PS3 release of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Commander's Challenge does not require a copy of Red Alert 3.

    EA? can you read this?
    as a player since Westwood DuneII,
    every single C&C game made after Generals Zero Hour is a pathetic attempt at keeping your RTS franchise alive. I don't know whether to blame the downfall of humanity, or is it the helm of EA that is hireing untalented designers, or you brainfarting ways of churning out game after game with absolutely no support thereafter,... to end my sentence, RA3 has had to be the worst ever! trying to have understood your point system in game would be like learning the language of 'omg i'm going to kill myself instead of bothering to play this game', the hero unit sizes and abilites were beyond comprehension as to why and how they were singlehandedly annihilating my base mid game without being able to counter any of it,

    I will hope CNC4 is somewhat better and closer to what Generals was, otherwise.....

      Except that I didn't like that much Generals either. And sadly CNC4 looks very much like 3, so...

        I loved generals, because it had awesome micromanaging abilities, and it was very nicely balanced. It felt very much like a rock/paper/scissors game, with chess like element play; opening moves, mid game, and endgame strategies. and always innovative in itself, and rushes were stopped, only to have a near perfect counter rush, which in itself was stoppable too! pro's faced off with mad skills, the quicker thinker and keyboard user was usually the winner... unless you had elements of surprise... but they cost money and time.

          Red Alert 3 is perfect to me, just hilariously awesome fun with varied missions and just the right difficulty level. While its not a very deep strategy game as far as strats go it is incredibly polished and fun.

      I got shot down when I bashed EA but he has a point. Especially the no support argument. I played RA3 through once and have never played it since. I have been playing games since the VIC20 and C64 and have seen EA destroy almost everything they touch. All they care about is production and numbers.
