Darkest of Days Demo Dawns on Xbox 360

3
The demo for 8Monkey Labs' time-travelling shooter Darkest of Days has hit the Xbox Live Marketplace today, offering the tutorial and a slice of the Civil War battle of Antietam to Gold subscribers, while Silver members must wait until next Tuesday.

Darkest of Days' premise is simple--travel through time using ginormous weapons from the future against poorly-armed peoples of the past to save history as we know it.

The same demo was released on PC last month and received warmly by our dear old Demoman, though critical response to the full game--out now--has been less positive.

I so want to love this game, but it doesn't seem to be doing so hot. I guess it'll be worth playing the demo.

the idea of being a time cop who can't kill certain people on the BF without ruining time is fun, but the budget, tech, and execution all are very shoddy. it's a shame when a crap game feels more original than other shooters though.
