Shack PSA: Garry's Mod $5 on Steam

16
Responsible for countless amusing images and experiences, Garry Newman's self-titled Source mod "Garry's Mod" has been briefly marked down 50% to $5 on Steam.

Initially released on Steam in 2006, the paid download lets you bring models from various games into an open sandbox and play with them accordingly. Since then, it's brought in over $3 million and given creator Newman financial stability.

"This game requires that you own a Source engine game such as Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2, or Day of Defeat: Source, cautions the program's official description. "Click here for a full list of games that meet this requirement. Please note that Portal: First Slice and the bundled Half-Life 2: Deathmatch do not fulfill this requirement."

The half-price sale runs until September 21. Thanks to JediDwag for the tip.

I love hearing stuff like that. Good for Garry and kudos to Valve for helping make success stories like this possible.

To be fair, if you looked at the numbers of competent moders vs. the ones that make any big time money you are staring at the odds of winning the lottery at making any real money off of one.

Did you know you have a greater chance at being Tom Cruise that you do of winning the mega-ultra super blast lottery?

Yep. The lottery is at roughly 1 in 175,000,000. Being Tom Cruise is only 1 in 150,000,000 or so.

So, be careful when you're buying that lottery ticket, or you may wake up as Tom Cruse one day! Then you'll be sorry!

            :-D

how are the odds of being Tom Cruise only 150,000,000? Would it not be 1 in 6.7 billion? or 44 other Tom Cruises running around that I don;t know about?
