Morning Discussion
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 15, 2009 7:00am PDTKnowing what to do on a Tuesday is always difficult. Should be at a loss for an activity today, I have compiled a lost of traditional Tuedicular activities you might find helpful:
- Drunkely roar sea shanties as you power a pedalo around the local park pond.
- Double dog dare complete strangers.
- Reorganise your hosiery drawer (or hosiery closet, should you be so lucky).
- Dispatch War Rocket Ajax to bring back his body. Whose? That's your secret, pal.
- Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die.
- Exchange heads with various animals in a series of riotous teleporter accidents.
I wish you a most pleasant Tuesday, no matter what you decide to do.

Thanks for recommending "I'm just here for the food". Got it last week and spent the past couple days reading through it. I've developed a recent interest in cooking and this put a lot of stuff together for me. I'm gonna outfit my kitchen the way Alton suggests and work through all the recipes in the book. :)

To sum it up, it's a silly and amusing puzzle game. That's about it. Considering what's been on the DS lately, or ever, it's probably one of the best DS games out there. What it boils down it is a classic point and click puzzle game combined with a physics puzzle game. I.E. needing to push a button in someplace while going through a door that's in another place. I'd put it along the lines of Braid, though the entertainment comes more from all the ridiculous things you can put together rather than the cleverness of the puzzle designs.
Ultimately a game that would be worth $15-20 if it were anywhere else but on the DS (or PSP for that matter). It doesn't make me regret getting rid of my own DS. But if you're own DS is sitting there gathering dust like I suspect it is then giving it one last hurrah with Scribblenauts won't set you wrong.

Nick Cave print by Emek that's been custom framed
$300
http://www.robotwalrus.com/images/CRW_8789_nick_cave.jpg
Emek is one of the most well known and popular poster artists. It's almost impossible to buy this stuff these days. This one has been custom framed(non glare, UV protection glass) already and is in perfect condition. It's hanging on my wall. You might think that's expensive, and you're right, but it's a really nice frame and custom framing is uber fucking expensive. I have some prints that cost me $400 just to frame. I bought it at a poster convention directly from Emek. He signed it right in front of me.
Sink or Swim by Daniel Danger that's been custom framed
$400
http://turnofthecrank.com/wtf/sinkorswim_framed.jpg
http://tinymediaempire.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/ghostship.jpg
Daniel Danger is probably my favorite artist. This print sold out in like 30 minutes. This is actually printed on black paper and it's a screen print with like 11 layers or some crazy shit. It was originally $100. Custom framing cost me $350~ This is a steal. Perfect condition, framed with non-glare uv glass.

They're usually pretty honest, so this surprised the hell out of me. Might actually pick this up.

The reason i ask is i really want an ipod touch that connect to 3g. This would be my perfect device, one which i could get a basic data plan with and i'd be sorted. I dont want the iphone as generally i dont wanna take something that expensive out with me to clubs/gis and what not, and i quite like having a separate device anyway.
Thoughts?

I'm a Java guy, but I've never written a GUI from scratch before. I need to write a simple application that'll have a few sliders/dropdowns/textboxes that will collect the input and write to a file (and then launch a scientific model, render an image, and display the results in the GUI).
Only requirement: must run on Linux. It doesn't have to be pretty, and I would spring for something like IntelliJ if it was worth it. Are there any editors as mature as Visual Studio is? Writing a C# GUI app was completely painless in that IDE.
I'm thinking my options are:
- Swing (with NetBeans?)
- Eclipse RCP (with Eclipse)
- SWT (are there nice editors out there?)

The Stable channel has been updated to version 3. If you aren't on the Beta or Dev channels, this means that at some point soon you will be getting a build with a bunch of improvements, such as more speed and a better New Tab Page.
More details at: http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/2009/09/stable-channel-update.html
Meanwhile the team is busy scoping out the milestone 4 workload. Since we're focusing on things like stability, memory use, and UI jankiness, this release probably won't have tons of new features in it, but hopefully it will behave a lot better in every way.

I have a few users who need entirely separate mailboxes for different accounts, in one Outlook window. I can make it so the user can open the second mailbox and read the items and stuff, but I can't for the life of me make it so they can send as the secondary account.
I tried the Advanced Features, Security tab, Send As permission like you'll find googling, but it doesn't work.
Like I said, this worked in another exchange organization, same version. I'm pulling out my hair!

Do we have any reviews of them yet?
