You're looking at this bass I guess? http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Fender-Precision-Replica/dp/B002DV7AVQ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1252546145&sr=8-6
I just bought it, feels really damn nice to play. Much better than the standard RB2 guitar I think. But yes, $90 on a big hunk of plastic, lol.-
I have one as well (mine is white), and I love it!
Pro-tip: mod your strum bar! Add shims (I used metal foil tape, the same type used to seal aluminum vents) underneath the contacts of the strum bar, to shorten the "throw". And if the strum bar feels too stiff, you can replace the springs with weaker springs taken from ballpoint pens.
The next Fender Precision Bass mod I'm thinking about is applying wood veneer to the fretboard (real wood but paper-thin, with an adhesive backing). Check this out:

He also covered the frets with the metal tape I mentioned above. HOT! More info at DocSoCal's forum:

Doc also uses this same wood veneer to cover the faceplate on Les Pauls:

Aside from the wood veneer, the other mod I'm planning is the "Dual Stage Kit" mod. You can find the Rock Band Stage Kit on eBay for cheap, so I bought a pair of them for around $35 each. You can then wire the second LED light into the first, giving you twice the stage lighting:

One improvement in the wireless version you can still do yourself on the original wired bass: open it up and flip one of the strum bars upside-down. The problem was that two sequential strums didn't always register if you didn't quickly release the first one: the first would still be registering as an "UP" when the second one is also pulled and registers "UP". But by flipping one of the strum bars, the first would be "UP" and the second would read as "DOWN", which does work, as some modders discovered.
MadCatz heard about this fix, and simply did it themselves for the wireless version as a cheap work-around.

Yep, although it does have tiny bumps on some frets to help you orient your hand. If you want raised frets, the new GH5 guitar is supposedly very good. Or you can get a GH3 Les Paul, although you may suffer from intermittent connection problems due to the removable neck. (Some people add paper or cardboard shims inside the neck receiver to tighten it up; otherwise, you can hardwire the fret buttons to the circuit board inside the body.)

I disagree, the best raised button controller is still the GH2 controller, granted it's wired and very difficult to buy, but it's still the best. The GH3 / GH:WT controllers just seem slightly off for some reason, but if wireless and raised buttons are your requirements then obviously it's a no brainer.
I have recently purchased a RB guitar and it's slowly becoming my favourite. At first I did not like how the buttons moved in to the neck, and it's harder to slide from one note to another, but it just feels really robust. I know that if I miss a note then it's my fault, whereas with my GH3 guitar there are times where I second guess the guitar. :|

I'm probably in the minority here but I'm glad I only rented it. As it stands, I probably won't buy this one.
Don't get me wrong, the presentation is fantastic. I love the music and everything, but I just don't feel as though I can see myself picking it up and playing it as I do normal RB. I guess there's a reason why I haven't been a fan of "band specific" RB/GH games, there's only so much I can take before I start to feel bored.
Maybe I'm just broken.
