Square Makes WWII RTS Debut September 22

Publisher Square Enix, best known for the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series, has dated its first World War II real-time strategy game for September 22 in North America.

Developed externally by Massive Assault veteran Wargaming.net, Order of War (PC) packs two single-player campaigns set in 1944, pitting American forces against their German counterparts in France and facing German forces against Soviets in Poland. A downloadable demo that samples an American mission can be found at FileShack.

Order of War is said to be part of Square Enix's recent "commitment to offer a broader variety of games across different genres," an initiative that has also seen the company pick up the publishing rights for Gas Powered Games' Supreme Commander 2.

I played the demo, it kinda reminded me to World in Conflict but in the WWII. That's not really bad but it wasn't that good either.

doh, I hated WiC. It wasn't really an RTS IMO. More like RTT, there was almost no base building.
