PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.0 Released

Celebrating the PS3 Slim's launch, Sony has let loose the PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.0 update, available to PlayStationers when they next sign into the PlayStation Network.

    Big Whoopie Doo!! It has sparkles. Jesus Sony, whats up with this as a major release?

      Yeah it's kinda weird that it got its own major release. The only really welcomed feature on my part is the status bar, top right, but that could have come in a point release.
      But sometimes, what seems like trivial changes to us end-users really required a major rewrite of the underlying system. Maybe that thing was originally badly written...
