New Left 4 Dead 2 Screenshot Reveals 'Dark Carnival' Campaign

Valve has released the first screenshot of the "Dark Carnival" campaign of its upcoming zombie shooter sequel Left 4 Dead 2.

The theme park-themed campaign is the third of five campaigns to be announced, joining the "The Parish"--set in New Orleans' French Quarter--and the murky "Swamp Fever."

Valve also announced that the Dark Carnival campaign will be playable at next week's Penny Arcade Expo, with different areas of the title being shown at the Microsoft and Valve booths. The company also promises to reveal more of the game's new items.

Left 4 Dead 2 is scheduled for a November 17 release on PC and Xbox 360.

"over 20 new weapons"

Let's see:
- "over 10 Melee Weapons"
- Silenced SMG (almost same as Uzi)
- (assume a "new" Tier 1 shotgun)
- New Autoshotgun (almost same as old autoshotgun)
- AK47 (almost same as old rifle)
- New Sniper Rifle (almost same as old sniper rifle)
- Grenade Launcher
- Mounted Minigun
- Pipe bomb
- Molotov Cocktail
- Single Pistol
- Akimbo Pistols

So that's what, about 1 more that hasn't been unveiled yet? And currently the only weapon that's actually completely new and not just a little more than a re-skin is the Grenade Launcher.

They made it sound like the first game had a lot of weapons in the demo... to hear that this sequel is supposed to have only a little over 10 more than the original, and a little over 10 of the new items are near-identical melee weapons is a bit disappointing.

I really hope there are some 1/2 operating rides - so that not everything that moves is a target to shoot (except for the other survivors). Maybe even taking a ride to get from one are to another.
There is a great CS map that is a remake of Disney's Hounted House ride that would be awesome with zombies attacking you while you are riding it.
